I have put this on the backburner for far too long. This is a wonderful, struggling organization. They are working tirelessly to provide for the children in their care. they are struggling with the rising cost of food in their country. They are working day and night to provide for the children's needs. They need to provide housing, school fees, uniforms, etc for the children.
If you can assist, whether it be in assist by helping spread the word and start a sponsorship program or by other means please let me know.. they should not be a forgotten organization.

It has been a while
I am sorry that it has been a while since
I have posted anything. I have been searching for a group that could take this and develop a sponsorship program modeled after Child Hope Zambia Mwana Hope Zambia, since it is the program that I think that this one most closely relates to, as they have very similiar goals beyond the sponsorship portion. I have finally found one of two organizations willing to help. I am putting everything together and presenting it to both groups in the coming weeks. So, please i am begging you, keep the orphanage in your prayers and pray that one of these two groups is going to move forward and assist the group. i firmly believe that one of them is going to, so i will once again start posting the information about the children. thank you very much for visiting again

What if God was one of us?
I am sure that many of you have heard the song, "One of Us" if you have not heard the song, well you need to take the time and go to You Tube and listen. I bring this up, because, remember Jesus walked this earth as a carpenter's son for the first thirty years that He was here. He walked as "one of us". Who is to say that He doesn't walk among us today. Who is to say that He is not the child that is being beaten , that instead of interfering, we turn our heads and look away because, we do not want to get involved... who is to say that he is not the homeless vet sitting on the corner living with demons from what he has seen and endured, and when we walk by we turn away or cross the street so as not to get near that person? Do you know if he is an Aids orphan who eats only a few times a week on what can be scrounged up, hauling water for miles each day, trying to take care of His younger siblings, trying to find a way to go to school so that he can help his family more, but not being able to come up with the money for the uniform and the fees.. and we turn away.. because "its a drop in the bucket, it wont help.. my little bit wont matter, it wont change anything.." well guess what? you are wrong
Maybe your small assistance will not change the world, but if each of us does our small part then we will see a tidal wave of change slowly sweep through Africa and through the world.
I am not a fan of just giving hand outs, but I am a huge fan of giving hands up. Giving people the means to raise themselves up out of the situation that they are in, the exception, children. Children have no control of their lives. They do not ask to be born, they do not ask to come into this world, but once here they must endure many things, the least of which is not death, as sometimes that is a blessed relief, no they endure hunger, cold, disease, hard work at a very young age ( can you as an american or european imagine that your 3-4 year old must walk 1-2 miles 2-3 times a day to bring safe drinking water to your home.. and there are wild animals that can make the trip even more dangerous.. )now imagine that both of the child's parents have died from AIDS, the child may or may not be HIV + as well, their situation went from bad to dire in a very short period of time.
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
No you and I alone can not save the masses... but do we walk by the one, do we ignore the one? or do we help the one child.. then hope that the one child grows up and does the same thing and then it spreads. Now how can we help. We can help through organizations , like this one, Mafubira United Aids Ministry- which runs an orphanage, church, outreach for those that are homebound, providing IGP's for widowers so that they can contribute to the community and provide for their families.. This organization is helping lots of people. They are doing it on the ground in Uganda, day in and day out. They need our help.
If you help one child, what does it matter? it matters to that child, it matters to their family, it matters to their friends.. IT MATTERS. If you help a child to receive an education then they will have the means to get a job, to provide their own support and not have to depend on other people. EDUCATION we can help these people get an education which is the key to lifting them out of poverty.. I will be posting a series of pictures and information. While there is not a sponsorship program in place, we are asking for support to help these children with school They all live full time at the orphanage, some of them have lost both of their parents so they are truly alone in the world. Several of them have actually managed to still maintain exceptional grades and test well and made it into senior secondary. IF you are not familiar with the educational system, school starts around 7 years old in primary 1 ( first grade) and primary goes through seventh grade, then eigth and ninth grade are in secondary school. When a child finishes ninth grade then they take a mandated test and if they pass it at whatever level then they can go on to senior secondary. Senior secondary is an honor and a privledge that lets a student have a chance at a good job because that is how you get into a technical school program or into university.. but the children must pay for senior secondary school, how does an orphan pay for school..
I have rambled far too long.. but consider this, is He walking among us now, is He one of us.. are you going to be proud of your actions or non-actions? are you going to know in your heart that you have done the right thing?

Mafubira United AIDS Ministry.
What is the Mafubira United AIDS Ministry?
Mafubira United Aids Ministry -Uganda is an independent, indigenous non-governmental organization which was started in 2003 by Pastor Robert Tosumbira to address the growing needs of orphans and widows due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Though started as a community based organization, MUAM soon upgraded to a nongovernmental organization to better handle the anticipated future characterized by abject poverty and the unending spread of HIV/AIDS. MUAM has been a fully independent NGO since 2005 with headquarters in Mafubira, 2 kilometers from Jinja, about two hours east of Kampala, Uganda.
About our ministry.
Orphan education.
Guidance and counseling plus home care.
Environmental protection activities.
Economic empowerment of the rural communities.
AIDS education through music, dance and games.
Preaching door to door
OUR MISSION
MUAM Uganda is a pro-life giving ministry whose mission and mandate is to uphold the sanctity of human life and endeavoring to meet the physical, spiritual and emotional needs to the HIV/AIDS orphans and widows facing welfare problems.
OUR VISION
To ensure the well being of orphaned children and widows facing welfare problems, our aim is to reach all kinds of HIV/AIDS afflicted people in both rural and urban communities through various means. MUAM works in:
• Assessing child welfare needs for orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children and coordinating resources for their care.
• Providing psychosocial care to widows and children whose lives have been affected by AIDS
• Empowering widows economically through pursuing income generating activities and vocational training.
• Providing formal education for orphans and vulnerable children whose families are affected by AIDS.
• Sensitizing and educating communities about HIV/AIDS.
• Providing mobile palliative care for people living with AIDS.
• Providing spiritual care and support
¬STATEMENT OF NON-DISCRIMINATION
MUAM does not discriminate in regard to religious or tribal background in its mission to serve orphans and vulnerable children, and our community members living with AIDS.
¬MUAM PROGRAMS
Community Placement of Orphaned Children
As we identify children that have lost their parents, we trace the next of kin to try and place them there, so as to keep that unique semblance of familial attachment going. In the absence of relatives, we identify families with the capacity to absorb one or two extra children and then place them there. These families are expected to treat the orphans as though they are their own children, by providing them with whatever their families would: food, shelter, medical care, education, clothing, but above all, love without peripheral qualifications. M.U.A.M. now visits these homes twice every month to supervise and ascertain compliance to M.U.A.A.’s child placement standards.
Agape Children’s Home
In the absence of a suitable home for orphaned and vulnerable children, MUAM provides a home to care for them as they can meet that need. Children’s needs are complex and require physical, social, developmental, and spiritual care to raise them with a sense of self confidence and self worth. Agape Children’s Home currently 32- children.
Widows Economic Empowerment Projects
. Widows Economic Empowerment Projects It is women who assume much of the responsibility for orphaned children ultimately. The income generating capacity of these households is profoundly constrained by numerous dependent children; lack of opportunity to accumulate productive resources like cattle, goats, and farming implements; and difficulty in gaining access to credit. They are further constrained by limited education and training which limits their employability. MUAM has countered this trend by organizing widows in groups, and then offering them training in different skill sets such as tailoring, crafts, agriculture and farming. The women work on skills of their own choice and demonstrable ability for sustainability. MUAM raises support for sewing machines for groups of four widows, supplies for crafts, and livestock. Support Care. Pastor Robert is currently youth pastor at Mafubira Methodist Church and it has about 80-100 people, mostly widows and orphans.we have a lot of needs at our ministry..such as food for the orphans, school bills ( while there is free/government sponsored education the parents/guardians must pay PTA fees each term, as well as buy the school books and uniforms), electricity, medical, clothes, and shoes.
